The Government of Ontario is moving quickly to finalize the design of its Ontario Retirement Pension Plan, which is due to take effect on Jan. 1, 2017.
Today, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and a coalition of over 150 employers released a letter to Premier Kathleen Wynne outlining five outstanding concerns regarding the proposed pension plan.

In a letter addressed to Premier Kathleen Wynne, a coalition of more than 150 organizations are today urging the government to expand its definition of pension plan comparability to include capital accumulation plans, including (but not limited to) Defined Contribution plans.

Hamilton, ON, MAY 27, 2015: Local business leaders from Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) chambers of commerce and boards of trade met with Ontario cabinet ministers on Monday to discuss key issues impacting the regional economy.
In a wide ranging discussion held at Queen’s Park, business and government leaders touched on three priority areas: solving gridlock and improving transit, planning for growth and infrastructure, and promoting economic growth across the region.
