Hamilton Chamber Announces Winners of the 37th Annual Outstanding Business Achievement Awards

June 1, 2021 – HAMILTON, ON: In a virtual Awards Show on June 1, the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce announced this year’s winning recipients of the annual Outstanding Business Achievement Awards (OBAAs). This year’s OBAAs honoured businesses who exhibited resilience throughout COVID and those who made great contributions to the local business community.
The Chamber is pleased to announce the following winners:
Small Business of the Year (1-10 employees): Laser Spa Group
Mid-Sized Business of the Year (11-50 employees): Eccles Auto Service
Large Business of the Year (50+ employees): WalterFedy (Hamilton)
Young Entrepreneur, Under 40 of the Year: Lohifa Pogoson Acker (LoDidThat)
Not-for Profit Organization: Goodwill, the Amity Group (Amity Goodwill Industries)
COVID Champion: Good Shepherd Centres
Accessibility Award: This award was presented to TownePlace Suites Hamilton for being committed to inclusive, barrier-free recruitment, and creating employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.
Century Award Recipients: This award was presented to both YWCA Hamilton and YMCA Hamilton Burlington Brantford for their contributions to the community for over 100 years.
RBC Royal Bank Hamilton Citizens of the Year: Also honoured at the virtual awards celebration were Paul Johnson (General Manager of the Healthy and Safe Communities Department, City of Hamilton) and Dr. Elizabeth Richardson (Medical Officer of Health, City of Hamilton). The pair were nominated for their dedication, commitment, and sacrifice during this unprecedented public health crisis and accepted the Citizens of the Year Award on behalf of Hamilton’s public servants and healthcare professionals that have served our community so admirably during the pandemic.
