The Government of Ontario is moving quickly to finalize the design of its Ontario Retirement Pension Plan, which is due to take effect on Jan. 1, 2017.

Today, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and a coalition of over 150 employers released a letter to Premier Kathleen Wynne outlining five outstanding concerns regarding the proposed pension plan. The primary concern of the employer community remains with the plan’s potential economic impact, as businesses worry that the proposed pension plan will further contribute to the cumulative burden that they are facing.

The coalition includes chambers of commerce, boards of trade, sector associations and businesses from a variety of sectors, including many from Hamilton.
